When you see a butterfly, it instantly puts a smile on your face. It reminds you of pure beauty, joy and grace. We enjoy the presence of butterflies, but we rarely think about their transformation or process of becoming. The butterfly is a powerful symbol of transformation, metamorphosis, and healing. The process of a butterfly’s life cycle-egg to caterpillar to chrysalis to butterfly- mirrors the journey of healing and personal growth, symbolizing the shedding of old patterns, the courage to face difficult emotional wounds, and the emergence into a more whole and empowered self.

Therapy is a collaborative process where clients and clinicians work together to set goals for treatment. Between sessions, you may be encouraged to engage in homework assignments like journaling, reading, creating art or other forms of expression. These activities foster self-discovery, spiritual growth and healing and are reviewed in counseling sessions to deepen your progress. As part of our holistic care, we provide counseling grounded in biblical principles while integrating evidence-based therapeutic techniques. We aim to guide you towards a life of balance, peace and emotional freedom in alignment with God’s plan.
MI is a counseling method that helps engage the motivation of clients to change unhealthy behaviors. Clients are encouraged to explore and confront their ambivalence and foster autonomy.
SFBT sometimes called “brief therapy” is typically shorter than other therapies and achieves progress in 3-6 sessions. SFBT offers a practical and empowering approach to therapy by focusing on and identifying solutions, strengths, resources, and goals.
CBT is one of the most-utilized forms of therapy in the mental health field. CBT explores the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. In gaining insight into how what we think affects our emotions and actions, clients can learn to identify thinking patterns, challenge negative thoughts, and connect thoughts to deep core beliefs in order to make positive changes in mental health.
Though Visionary Passage Counseling & Consultation Services is not a DBT certified program, we offer DBT skills in individual therapy sessions. DBT helps clients learn to be more mindful, learn how to cope (distress tolerance), manage emotions (emotional regulation) and develop effective communication (interpersonal effectiveness).
